Principal Program Manager, HR Transformation

Amazon is looking for a smart, ambitious, strategic business transformation leader for our evolving HR tools and systems. In this role, you will develop deep expertise with HR Services and People Technology solutions used by Amazon and will work with business leaders, technologists, HR program leaders and delivery partners to develop and document new strategies, requirements and timelines taking full advantage of new technology platforms. As the Principal Program Manager for HR Services, you will own program management for global, core HR hire-to-retire process engineering to build scale, efficiency, and a great employee experience. You will work globally with business owners, technical program managers, and HR partners at all levels to understand strategy, requirements and timelines to guide an organization across multiple geographies. Objectives for this role will include driving deliverables across multiple work streams, building processes for change and communications, and indirectly leading a team in delivering these solutions.
  • Deliver Solutions – Implement global technologies and services to meet long term HR and Payroll business needs; partner with development teams on system design and gap analysis, prioritization of critical initiatives and resources, and make v. buy evaluation
  • Project Management – Develop project plans, secure resources, and drive project schedule; collaborate effectively across teams to define strategy, goals and commitment to timelines and deliverables
  • Communication - Own communications to project members and stakeholders on progress, issues, and risks including regular status updates and periodic white paper analysis; provide pre and post launch communications to impacted teams
  • Business Requirements - Coordinate the collection of global business requirements and the documentation of system configuration and integration specifications, test plans and use cases
  • Change Management – Lead the execution of the communication and training strategy, coordination of activities, and development of materials
  • Implementation - Direct the rollout of new tools and systems to global teams including delivery of standard operating procedures, workflow diagrams, training materials and post-launch support resources
  • Measurement - Develop measures to define progress and success; establish ongoing reporting requirements and key performance indicators for confirming return on investment; own, track and maintain project budgets and forecasts
  • · Developing Team Capabilities – work at an individual and team level to develop project and program management skills, provide stretch opportunities to advance the team and provide career development for team members
  • Experience designing processes for core HCM technology such as Workday, PeopleSoft, SAP or Oracle HCM
  • Experience implementing processes and providing support for core technology solutions in large-scale, complex environments
  • Successful record of building and improving operational processes and procedures, ability to drive program efficiency and high levels of customer satisfaction
  • Demonstrated program ownership and consistent delivery on commitments - great organizational skills with exceptional follow through and attention to detail
  • Exceptional analytical skills, comfortable working with large amounts of data and communicating data findings, experience establishing and tracking program metrics including return on investment
  • Strategic view, able to perform cost benefit analyses, accurately assess risk, forecast both long and short-term outcomes, and evaluate the implications in a complex business environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills - ability to interface with all levels of the organization, specific strength in influencing decision makers and managing expectations
  • Experience identifying and resolving complex issues, will take initiative even under unfamiliar or ambiguous circumstances - solid sense of accountability and sound personal judgment
