HR Associate Manager
The Human Resources Associate Manager has experience as an HR Generalist and is responsible for Distribution Center (DC) safety, recruiting, and assisting the Human Resources Manager with all aspects of DC Human Resources. Responsible for the successful creation and maintenance of new and existing injury reduction plans and interventions. Leads and manages workplace safety efforts and oversees safety programs (IIPP, MSDS, Equipment Certifications, Blood Borne Pathogen Program, Evacuation Plan, Safety Review Boards, etc.) Also serves as the liaison between the BBBY/Corporate Safety Representatives, DC Safety Committee, Team Members, and the management team. Recruiting; assisting with sourcing, selection and placement. In partnership with the Human Resources Manager, provide guidance, counsel and problem-solving alternatives to DC Operations to include, but not limited to, employee relations, succession planning, performance issues, corrective actions, performance appraisal process, and compliance. The HR Associate Manager must have a working understanding of all areas within the HR Department. Must be able to conduct warehouse meetings, employee and leadership awareness meetings in a professional and energetic manner. Must be readily available to answer all HR questions from any level of employee within the distribution center.
In partnership with BBBY/Corporate WC team, expedite medical treatment to injured workers, assist with managing the claims administration process, and maintain good working relationships with designated medical providers and injured workers.
Expedite and coordinate the return to work process for injured employees.
In partnership with the DC management team, follow up on safety investigations to ensure all claims are thoroughly completed.
Analyze and identify safety issues and trends. Partner with the DC management team to develop solutions and establish processes to correct safety issues and reduce injuries.
Maintain, review, and ensure integrity of WC tracking systems, OSHA Logs, and other WC record keeping, as well as safety and equipment training.
Ensure safety recommendations are implemented, and that proper training is given for any new equipment or procedure changes.
In partnership with DC management team, equipment training/Certification of employees to include classroom training of new and existing employees.
Lead Safety Review Boards and Safety Committee meetings, as well as participate in warehouse meetings.
Manage/Responsible for development and performance of their direct report.
Manage the recruitment process for DC employees; post open positions, and track applicant flow as needed.
With guidance from the Human Resources Manager, create, implement, and administer human resources policies and procedures.
Assist in maintaining positive employee relations with all levels of the organization and assist employees in successfully resolving conflicts and differences of opinion.
Assist with the annual appraisal process.
Provide guidance and assistance to all leaders in administering corrective actions, discipline, staff evaluations, and terminations to ensure all employees are treated equally by following all company and legal requirements.
Provide training and guidance to all levels of the distribution center.
Perform other duties and special projects assigned.
